On behalf of the Heiwa Peace and Reconciliation Foundation of New York, we extend our warmest gratitude for your continued support of our mission to foster peace, harmony, and reconciliation.  We are delighted to invite you to our 8th Anniversary Peace Program “Give Thanks, Not Hate! That Is the Path to Peace” to be held as follows:

Program:

Part 1: “Arts for Peace”
• Amane Sakaguchi (Kosaburo Kineya): A rising shamisen virtuoso from a 200-year Nagauta lineage, blending tradition with Western classical composition
• Special Guest from Japan performing socially engaged Kabuki
• New York’s finest:
• Michelle DellaFave, singer (former regular on The Dean Martin Show)
• Yuuki Koike, flute & saxophone
• Nahoko Sugiyama, spiritual dancer

Part 2: “Interfaith Peace Dialogue”
• Screening of the documentary “Manji” (卍) (39min) - best short documentary film at Albany Film Festival (2022)
• Panel discussion with speakers from diverse religious, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds, exploring
reconciliation between Eastern ideals of harmony and modern Western challenges

This is a fundraising event to sustain Heiwa’s peace-building initiatives.
